Movin' and Groovin'

Camden and Donovan sure know how to shake it!

White Christmas

On Christmas Day we took Camden and Donovan outside for their first time in the snow. They were less than thrilled to be bundled up from head to toe but eventually they "warmed up" to the idea.

"Waa... I can't put my arms down!"

Once we got outside, they refused to walk in the snow!

Daddy to the rescue- he grabbed the shovel and Donovan helped him clear a path,

while Camden watched from the step

Snow!

We have a good amount of snow in the yard but we haven't had a chance to take the boys out in it because it's been too cold. So, we brought the snow into them!

It's okay to eat... as long as it's not yellow right!

Eating Like Big Boys!

The boys love to eat with spoons now!

Bath Buddy

Brave Little Boy

We had another trip to the ER for little Donovan. He woke Thursday about 1:30am sounding like he was wheezing and struggling to breathe a bit. So we ran a steamy shower but that didn't give him any relief. Mommy took him to the hospital while Daddy stayed home with Camden. Finally at 5am after 2 breathing treatments, 1 oral steroid and several chest xrays we were able to go home- the dr was thinking of admitting him for a bit there! Later that morning we saw his regular pediatrician and she sent us home with a nebulizer to do breathing treatments at home for the next week. Such a good boy he was about taking his treatments!

Little Artists

Camden and Donovan are very into art lately. They get so excited to see the crayons and paint brushes out.

Here are some Christmas projects they have worked on:

They're Climbing!

Camden and Donovan are ready for rock climbing! They are climbing on everything they can around the house. The kitchen chairs are now moved to the dining room when not being used by adults (Camden was using them as a step stool to reach the light switch and to help himself to potato chips on the table). They swing their leg up onto the couch and sit (or stand and reach into the neighboring toy shelf!). The latest was Donovan moving a car over to the coffee table and using it to gain access to the top. Of course, again bad Mom, has to take a picture first!

Santa

Santa Encounter #2 was no better than the first- which I didn't expect anything different.

This picture is from our twins club holiday party. We braved the cold and wind on Sunday to head to the community center in Woodridge to have dinner with our twin family friends. The boys had a blast watching Santa as they ate, but when it came their turn to get their present they weren't so excited! I'm sure it will be a few year before we can enjoy a visit to Santa.

Camden

Camden, I love you because...

You have the cutest little dimple in your left cheek.

You are so stinkin' inquisitive. You've figured out in the past week how to get up on the couch, how to move the kitchen chairs around so you can crawl up and get what you want, & how to open the bathroom door and pantry doors. If you want to touch it, taste it, move it- you'll find a way!

You love to read books- you know what's coming on the next page in EVERY single one of your books.

You find your brother's blankie bear and take it to him when he's sad.

You were told not to put crayons in your mouth, so you put them in your nose!

You figured out how to unzip your pj's so you walk around with your belly hanging out.

Most of all Camden, I love you because you're you!

Donovan

Donovan, I love you because...

You love to read- you notice right away if the book is upside down and will flip it over the correct way.

You have the most gorgeous blue eyes, just like your Daddy.

You always finish your snack first, then stalk your brother's snack. You'll sit right next to him and peek at his bowl. Then your little hand will sneak over and touch his bowl ever so gently. Then suddenly you'll dig your hand in a steal a little goldfish or nilla wafer. You stinker!

You let me know any time the oven beeps, my phone rings, or the doorbell rings. Thanks for the reminder!

You love to dance, especially to Elmo DVD's. You bop up and down, you clap your hands and spin in circles. You've got your Daddy's dance moves mastered already!

You try so hard to use a spoon when you eat, but it just doesn't work quite right- so then you just dig your little fingers right in!

You act like you are ready to get up, but when we go to take you out of your crib you giggle and dive back under the covers.

You manage to eat around every little vegetable in your food, leaving a neat pile of peas, green beans or carrots.

Most of all Donovan, I love you because you're you!

Cookies with Santa

Today we met Cousin Matthew at Lewis University for their Cookies with Santa event. What a fun morning! Mommy and Daddy munched on delicious muffins while the boys ate buttery sugar cookies. Our table ended up near the projection screen showing A Muppet's Christmas Carol which captured the boys attention.

Then we found some cute cookie decorating packs for the boys.
Camden loved spreading the frosting on his cookie, helping Mommy shake the sprinkles on top, and then his favorite- sampling his work.

Donovan however, was not so thrilled that Daddy wasn't letting him dig right into his 2nd cookie of the morning. All was good when he finally was able to dig those little fingers into the frosting.

As we expected there was no way either Camden or Donovan was going to sit on Santa's lap. So safely tucked into our arms we posed for a family picture.
