The boys are talking and babbling all day long now. I have to be sneaky with the camera though as they just want to see in the viewfinder when they see me with it!

After a busy afternoon of playing outside (including "helping" mom water plants) these boys needed a bath! So here they are at 4:40 bathed and in their pj's!

Vacation part 2

We took our first family vacation the first week of June. We drove to Wisconsin Dells for a few days after staying the night at Derek's brother's lake house. The boys napped the whole way to the Dells so when we arrived they were ready to explore! We got into town before check in time at the hotel so we headed to the "downtown" area. They had a nice riverwalk where the boys could safely run off some energy.

Mom of course needed a picture of the boys... they agreed to both look at the camera but we couldn't get them to smile!

Then we heard/saw a train... "choo choo"!

Finally we were able to check in. We had a great condo with a kitchen, family room, and 2 bedrooms! Unfortunately the "kids room" had a huge bunk bed and we had to squeeze the 2 pack and plays in the room. There was JUST enough room to open the door.




Camden and Donovan LOVE water. However... they do not love water parks. They were not fans of the dumpy, crashy water that all the pool areas had. By the end of our stay we learned which pools we could convince the boys to enjoy without them clinging to our legs.

This was the view out our balcony. I forgot our wristband passes so when I came up to the room to grab them, I found a great photo spot! (That's Derek and the boys in the lower right side of the pic)

Camden enjoyed this butterfly slide over and over. Donovan tried it once or twice.

The boys favorite was to go in these bouncy seats. They could jump around or we could pull them by their feet and they would swing back into the water.




Look! We got them to go down this big splashy slide with us! This was Mommy and Camden.

Hangin' in the pool. This had an infinity side that overlooked the lake. The boys loved this because they saw lots of boats.





On our last day we took a Dells Ducks boat tour. This boat on wheels when through the woods, into the lake and back through the woods.

It really was a fun ride, despite this sleeping guy


Derek and I said several times how different the Dells is now that we have kids. After vacationing here several times without kids, we did less, ate out less (twin toddlers in restaurants isn't that fun) but we had fun with our kids!

I think if you asked the boys what they liked- they would say the bus (shuttle bus we took around the resort property) and the boat (the water taxi we took, once). Ha ha!

Vacation part 1

To kick off our mini vacation we headed north to the Milwaukee area to visit Derek's brother's lake house. We arrived Sunday just before lunch- busted the boys out of their carseats and headed out to explore.


Then we enjoyed lunch on the deck.




After naps Auntie, Uncle, and Cousin Natalie arrived and we played outside for the afternoon. The weather was perfect- sunny but not too hot. Camden and Donovan enjoyed a big bubble blower that Auntie brought out from the basement.





While the boys played with Auntie, Derek and I had fun playing with our niece Natalie under the shade of a tree.

Camden and Donovan came by periodically to check on their cousin and to tickle her toes.







What a great day we had. After a warm bath to wash the dirty feet the boys were tucked into bed. In the morning we head to Wisconsin Dells!

Bedtime Story

Summer!

If today was any sign of the summer ahead, I can't wait! Camden, Donovan, and Mommy headed outside after naps and a quick trip to the library. They were so excited to try out their new big boy pool.

As the sun lowered in the sky it was time to get dinner ready. Gooey cheeseburgers on the grill and buttery corn on the cob were enjoyed on the patio.


Camden LOVED his corn on the cob! Loved it so much he finished off Donovan's too!







After dinner it was back in the pool while Mom and Dad watched from the side. The boys played right up until bedtime. Now that's what summer is all about!
