We spent Mother's Day with my parents- lunch and then a trip to the pond nursery. Then I got a nice LONG afternoon nap. Couldn't have asked for a better day! Next Mother's Day will certainly be different! The babies continue to be VERY active. Derek commented one morning he couldn't believe I could sleep through all the kicking and punching going on in there. As long as they are not beating up on each other! It reassures me every time I feel them that things are going well.
Updates... Thursday I had my 24 week OB check-up. The usual: pee in a cup, weight,
BP, heartbeats. The nurse easily found Baby B's heart beat (in the 150's) but of course, Baby A was moving around so much she had trouble catching his heartbeat (found it and was in the 140's). I have a feeling this kid is going to give us a run for our money! I've gained 6 pounds this month which Dr. Pierre said is right on track. My
BP was perfect as usual. I was a little dehydrated so she said to make sure I'm getting enough water throughout the day. It's hard to remember when I'm teaching but I'll work on that. She wrote me an order to have a glucose test in the next week or two. She wants to see me after that and my next ultrasound (May 20
th) so I will see her in 3 weeks. After that she wants to see me every 2 weeks.
On Friday my co-workers through me a shower at lunch. They worked so hard to make it such a fun party. We played two games, had a salad bar to eat, and an ice cream cake (Yum-o!). Everyone was so generous with their gifts. I feel so fortunate to have such great friends at work. It was extra special because one of the teachers who threw the shower also through my Mom's baby shower when she was expecting me!
This week should be pretty calm at work- field trip to
Pilcher Park tomorrow then a normal week the rest of the week. Friday night we will head to Indiana to visit Derek's family and have a baby shower with them. Have a great week everyone!
