Paci Fairy

It was time for the paci fairy to visit the Ring House!  

We've been warning the boys for a few weeks now that the pacis were going to go to the new baby soon...  That day finally arrived (and we are finally home for a few weeks to give them time to adjust if needed).  I must say, this transition was so hard- on Mommy.  My babies aren't babies any more!

Sunday night we had the boys collect all their pacis and brought them down to the kitchen table.  Here they decorated bags for the paci fairy.

Then into the bags went the pacis.  Camden and Donovan thought this process was so much fun... till the bags stayed in the tree and we went up to bed!

The first night was okay for Camden, a little crying when he went to bed but he slept through the night fine.  Donovan sobbed off and on from 7-9:30, then again at 10:30.  Finally he slept from 10:30-6:30.  

But the next morning...  PRESENTS from the paci fairy!

" Look Mommy- it's a treat kinda like a paci!"

We are 3 days in now and things are going well.  They've napped well and are going to bed without tears.  Hope the big boy beds go just as well!

28 weeks

It's been another 4 weeks since my last pregnancy update!  It's going way too fast!  We are now 28 weeks pregnant- just 11 weeks from my delivery date.  Dr. Pierre has scheduled my c-section for Monday, August 13th.  As long as the baby cooks to 39 weeks, that will be it's birthday.  Dr. Pierre has other ideas since she will be out of town for the c-section so she's hoping he/she wants to come a little early. I had a check up this past week- everything looked good.  Daddy got to hear the heartbeat for the first time.  The baby continues to be very active! 

What's new on the baby front?  Our new crib has been ordered and is ready for pick up.  We are still waiting on the dresser as right now it's out of stock.  Hopefully it comes in soon.  The baby's room is still our office/guest room so nothing to get excited over there.  We plan to start moving furniture out the end of June, have a closet installed, and do the priming/painting in early July.  Right now I plan to wait till the baby arrives to pick bedding colors and such.  I have several sewing projects to accomplish during these hot summer days coming up.  Going to try my hand at recovering our glider cushions and adding some padding to the arm rests.  Also need to make some curtains to mount to the french doors to cut down on the light coming through from the hallway.  

We have our girl names narrowed down to 3.  Derek has his boy list narrowed down to 3 but I still am having a little trouble narrowing mine down.  By the time we leave the hospital this baby will have a name!  Camden and Donovan continue to show a lot of interest in the baby- love to kiss on my belly, read the baby stories, and share their stuffed animals with the baby.  It's so sweet to watch.  I can't wait to see them as big brothers!

Disney Vacation Part 4- Chef Mickey's

On Saturday (April 28th) we took the kids to a character meal.  We chose Chef Mickey's because it had the most familiar characters for our youngsters.  We traveled back to the Magic Kingdom property over to The Contemporary Resort- arriving a little early to walk around the hotel.  The kids really enjoyed that the monorail runs right through the hotel!  We went out to a balcony/patio area where we had a great view of the castle, the ferry boats and the monorail. 

We had an 11:00 reservation (which I highly recommend the late morning time- the restaurant was nearly empty by the end of our meal and we had the characters to ourselves).  We all enjoyed sampling the delicious food from the breakfast buffet.  Donovan enjoyed all the fruit and yogurt while Camden loved the Mickey waffles.  As we ate the characters would come around to all the tables to greet the kids- what fun!

Disney Vacation Part 3- Hollywood Studios

On Sunday, April 29th we hit Hollywood Studios.  This was by far my least favorite park- not very much for the little kids, plus the humidity rolled in that day so that didn't help one bit! Before getting into the park Minnie and Daisy were outside for a character greeting.  Of course we had to stop!

We first headed for Pixar Ave where you can find the Toy Story stuff.  The boys have recently gotten into the Toy Story movies so they were excited to see Buzz and Woody.  We headed straight for the Toy Story Mania ride which attracts big lines as soon as the park opens.  For the ride you wear 3D glasses and play carnival type shooting games at targets.  Of course the Dad's loved this one- had to get FastPasses to try it again later in the day to beat their scores.  After the ride we headed over to get in line to see Buzz and Woody.  Luckily this line was inside the air conditioning but it didn't make the wait any easier for some impatient 2 year olds!  Once we got up there, Donovan was all about the characters but they were a little overwhelming for Camden.

Another exciting attraction at Hollywood Studios was the Cars "meet and greet".  Donovan kept asking me why Mator wasn't talking!  Silly boy.  We had to visit McQueen and Mator twice that day. 

We had a few shows on our list but after the Nemo experience we decided to be a little more selective on the shows.  In the morning we went to the Disney Junior- Live on Stage show.  This was a blast.  We sat on the floor where the kids could get up and dance throughout the performance.  All their favorite cartoon characters were featured:

In the afternoon we cooled off inside for the MuppetVision 3D show- this the boys liked! They kept their 3D glasses on the whole time and would often reach out trying to touch the 3D images that "flew" at us.  We also visited the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set- a huge play area for the kids.  Fun but so easy to lose your kid in, we didn't play for too long.

 

The Moms sat and entertained the kids while the Dads went on the Tower of Terror ride, gotta let the Dad's have a little fun too! Who can make a goofy face (AKA- distract the kids!)
