A day in the life of Camden and Donovan
We are falling into a more predictable schedule around here now that Camden and Donovan are getting a little bigger. Here's what an average day looks like:
They typically wake around 6am, usually Donovan is up first as he sleeps through the night and is ready to eat. They are both up before Derek leaves for work so he gets to spend a few minutes with them. After eating we head downstairs to stretch out and play under the gym. They are both ready for their first nap about 8 or 2 hours after they woke up. I try not to have them both go down at the same time because then they wake at the same time which is hard. They both wake a bit cranky and hungry so it's hard to snuggle them both if they wake together. They eat again between 9 and 10. After nursing they have a bit of cereal- either rice or oatmeal. We play again until about 11 or 11:30 and they are back down for another nap. Their third feeding is about 1, another nap before their fourth feeding at about 4. Then comes the dreaded hour before Daddy gets home. The boys are usually happy but Mom is worn out! The evenings are getting better- as everyone said the evening crankiness would wear off. Sometimes they will take a little power nap, just like Grandpa Reyelts, for 15 min or so after Daddy gets home. They have their last feeding at 7pm then it's off to bed. Camden still prefers to be swaddled so we wrap him up tight and give him his paci. He will lay right down and listen to the music in his room for a few minutes before drifting off to sleep on his own. Donovan likes to suck his thumb so he's in a sleep sack and likes to cuddle up with his stuffed giraffe. Usually we just lay him in his bed, he rolls to his left side and conks out. He's been sleeping in the guest room for a few weeks now as we try and get Camden sleeping better at night. He likes to wake up, not really needed anything but some attention.
It's nice to be getting into a pattern now where I can plan out the day a little better. Other than eating and sleeping, we fill our days with playing under the gym, practicing rolling, having tummy time, playing in their exersaucers, and reading stories. It will be nice when spring comes to get back outside for walks but right now it's just too much to pack everything up to go walk around the mall! We have attended one playdate through the local twins group and hope to be able to make it to a few more.

They each have a saucer now. You should hear the "talking" going on now that they can look right at each other!

Tummy Time for Camden
Camden is becoming so strong when he spends time on his belly. See how well he holds up his head!
