Pumpkin Farm Time!

On Saturday we joined some other families from our twins club at the pumpkin farm in Homer Glen. Even though it was quite chilly, the boys didn't mind a bit and had a blast! Obviously I couldn't stop taking pictures so enjoy!

The boys each bounced on the big pillow with Daddy

They loved playing in the pumpkin house

Of course we had to try and a get a picture of the boys in the pumpkins!

The sun reflecting off the pumpkins gave Camden a lovely orange glow

The boys loved that we ditched the stroller and they could wander around like big boys

The pumpkin farm had these cool John Deere trikes

Racing with our twin friends

"One for me and one for brother- can we PLEASE get them?"

The animal barn was a big hit with Camden and Donovan
Here was a mama pig with her babies. I love how she just lays there with a smile as the piglets crawl all over her to eat. Girl, I feel you- that's what it's like to feed multiples!

Donovan was so excited to pet that cow

In the snack barn, they had a big pen filled with feed corn. The boys weren't so sure about sitting in all that corn. (left to right- Donovan, Camden, & their girlfriends Ava and Kera)

"all done"

"This is Ava."

One out of two looking isn't bad!

Camden William

Camden, you have the greatest smile!

I haven't updated lately so here's what's new with Camden William:

~ He's gone through a growth spurt, no surprise there- the kid eats like someone's going to steal his food. It's about time to move up to all those wonderful 18 month fall outfits he got for his birthday.

~ Camden knows and uses the signs for: more, eat, cup/milk, night-night, baby, and is working on all done. He says "ball", "more", and is working on "Matt" (his cousin Matthew). He makes the noise for a dog and pig when he sees one.

~ Camden is quite the daredevil. He is always standing up on the riding toys, which has been landing him in timeout the past few days. His favorite is to push them over to the wood floor, stand up and let go with his hands. Gives Mom a heart attack every time.

~ He has passed the walking stage and has entered the "toddler running stage"!

~ Camden loves attention- he sat on all the Mom's laps today at our play date showing them his belly button, trying to honk their noses...

Donovan Kyle

Oh Donovan- those smiles for the camera are rare but when you can catch them, you're just the cutest!

I haven't updated lately so here's what's new with Donovan Kyle:

~ He's gone through a growth spurt, no surprise there- the kid eats like someone's going to steal his food. It's about time to move up to all those wonderful 18 month fall outfits he got for his birthday.

~ Donovan has started having little conversations. We've caught him very quietly babbling away to his blankie bear, Little People toys, and "reading" his books. It's the cutest thing!

~ Donovan knows and uses the signs for: more, eat, cup/milk, night-night, baby, and is working on all done. He says "ball", "more", and is working on "shoe". He makes the noise for a dog when he sees one.

~ He is walking like a champ now. He looks so funny because he really sticks out his belly as he walks.

~ Donovan is quite the flirt with the ladies. Today he attracted the attention of a cute younger tyke at our play date- they batted eyes back and forth, smiled and giggled together. Seems like everywhere we go he has the girls following him.

Family Vacation

We had grand plans of taking the boys for a mini vacation this fall once the kids were back in school, my twins club resale responsibilities were over, and the weather got a little cooler. However... we scrapped that plan to just stay home and do some little day trips. Derek had Wednesday and Thursday off before heading to DC for a long weekend with his buddies.

Wednesday we headed to Brookfield Zoo. The boys received a membership from Grandma and Grandpa Ring for their birthday so we have been trying to go often. The weather was overcast and cool which kept the crowds away. The cooler temps made the animals more active. The boys are at such a fun age to go to the zoo- they are noticing the animals and get so excited to see them up close. Of course anything that resembles a dog (like a goat, a horse, a buffalo) will be pointed out by little "woof woff's" coming from the boys stroller! We realized on this particular trip that Camden is afraid of roosters and Donovan is not so fond of geese. Favorites this time were the camels, the bear swimming in the pool, and the elephant named Joyce.

Petting the goats in the children's zoo

Watching the giraffes

They were not interested in standing in the kangaroo's pouch... obviously Donovan didn't want ANYTHING to do with the kangaroo!

Visiting the camel again

Thursday after morning naps we headed to downtown Naperville. The boys enjoyed lunch at Lou Malnati's (okay, probably not as much as Mom and Dad enjoyed it... but we had a great waitress who kept the boys well stocked with muchies). After lunch we walked the river walk a bit then headed to the DuPage Children's Museum. What a blast we all had there. Again, not very crowded at all so the boys were free to roam around the place.
