On the Mend

We had our first bout with the flu around here. It was a rough 2 days here! As Derek said- It's much harder being sick when you have 2 toddlers to take care of. Donovan seemed to be the only one to not get the full blown flu but he wasn't himself, barely eating and just lazing around. We spent most of yesterday watching cartoons in our pj's.

Now we're back to feeling better! Derek is at work, I've done a load of laundry with 2 more waiting, 2 loads of dishes, and the boys have eaten a little breakfast. Amazing how things pile up when you're out of commission for only 2 days! I knew the boys were feeling better when I found Camden SITTING at the kitchen table, eating a crayon while Donovan colored on another chair. Ugg!

Today Uncle Glen, Aunt Amanda, and Cousin Matthew came for lunch and play for the afternoon. It's so much fun to see the boys starting to interact with each other. It was cute when they first arrived because Camden and Donovan were acting shy on their Daddy's lap and Matthew was acting shy on his Daddy's lap. Aww!

Here's Camden, Matt and Uncle Glen in the ball pit.

Donovan and Matt "playing" ball

Their favorite though were the bikes. Lucky we had one for each of them!

"Don't touch my bike Donovan!" Says Matthew

Halloween

While they didn't really "get it", we had a first fun Trick or Treating Halloween with Camden and Donovan. As you can see, they were more excited to visit the neighborhood dogs than they were about holding their trick or treat bags and collecting candy (for mom and dad!)

Ready for bed in their superhero jammies!

We also got a few pics of them in their costumes at Grandma and Grandpa's house and downtown Lockport

15 months old

It's hard to believe our little guys are 15 month old! We are now into the toddler stage and Camden & Donovan are very active all day long. Thank goodness we have nearly finished our play area in the basement so they have a large area to burn some energy. We brought their slide in from the backyard so that's a big hit down there. Both Camden and Donovan have discovered it's fun to clean up your toys! They love dropping their little toys into baskets/bins- they will even put cars in one and blocks in another. How's that for bright kids :)

Camden and Donovan play so well together. They will follow each other around playing peek-a-boo around the kitchen island. Camden will be sitting with books and Donovan will sit down next to him and listen to him "read". They give each other hugs and kisses too. It's so fascinating to see them interacting so much at such a young age. They have their moments where they fight like you would expect brothers to do, but they really enjoy each other most of the time.

Camden William

Camden is just over 23lbs. His favorite foods are cheese, nilla wafers, and any kind of fruit. He still enjoys playing with anything that has wheels. Maybe Santa will bring him some new trucks for the basement play area. Camden has 2 top molars that have broken through in the last week. He now has 8 teeth. Camden continues to LOVE books. Anytime he catches an adult sitting on the floor he will grab a book and curl up in their lap saying "book, book". He also likes the finger play songs we've been singing. His favorite is to clap when the song is over.

Donovan Kyle

Donovan is just over 23lbs. He loves to dive into the ball pit and throw balls behind the playzone walls. He also enjoys when Daddy builds him block towers to knock over. Donovan has 1 upper molar just ready to pop through- he currently has his 8 front teeth. I mentioned earlier about the boys cleaning up their toys- Just today I told them it was time to go up for a nap and Donovan started putting his books away in the bin before going to the gate! Good boy!

The boys are talking and signing so many words now.

Signs they know/use- eat, more, baby, bath, night-night, brush teeth, cup, thank you, and making car noises for any type of vehicle

Animal sounds they make- dog, cow, pig, snake, fish, bird, bear, elephant, lion, monkey, tiger, gorilla

Words they know/use- more, Elmo, Mama, Dada, ball, book, cheese, wash-wash, shoes, bye-bye, hi, Matt (their cousin)

Camden, you're not supposed to be up there!

Reading Time

Donovan, that must have been a funny book!

Camden trying a cucumber- wasn't a big fan but could resist going back for more!

Donovan and his very important phone call

Camden wanted to watch THIS movie. If only he could figure out how to open the case.

Hmm... they look like they're up to something
